Power is the single point of failure that even the most reliable dedicated server cannot survive without. A single power outage — whether from grid instability, a blown breaker, or a tripped PDU — can take down your server in milliseconds. - N+1 (Standard): One redundant component. One UPS with an extra module, or dual PDUs, so a single failure does not cause downtime. Most Tier III data centres operate at this level.
- 2N (Fully Redundant): Two completely independent power paths, each capable of handling the full load. If one feed, UPS, or generator fails, the other takes over with zero interruption. Found in Tier IV facilities.
